This homemade ranch dressing is delicious and easy to make. Utilizing mostly dried herbs, with the addition of fresh chives, you can whip up a batch last minute. A creamy, tangy buttermilk ranch.
I love ranch. Like so much. I dip pizza in it, I dip french fries in it. There may be nothing that I wouldn't dip in ranch, which is repelling if you ask my children.
Making your own ranch at home is actually super easy. You only need a few ingredients. The base of this buttermilk ranch is, you guessed it, buttermilk, sour cream and mayonnaise.
Add in some dried herbs and some fresh chives and you have a really delicious ranch dressing. I think this ranch tastes much better after it's had a chance to chill in the fridge, however, I've used it last minute and it's also good.
- 4 oz sour cream
- 4 oz mayo
- 3 oz buttermilk + more if you want it thinner
- 3 tbsp chives, chopped
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp dried parsley
- ½ tsp dried dill
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- Combine the sour cream, mayo, buttermilk, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, dried dill, salt and pepper in a bowl. Whisk until the dressing is mixed. Chill.
