Easy Stovetop Gnocchi Lasagna

Less than an hour is all you need for this easy gnocchi lasagna! It's a one bowl kind of family dinner. Filled with potato gnocchi, ground beef, marinara, Italian seasonings, onion, garlic and mozzarella cheese.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • pepper
  • 28 oz marinara sauce
  • 1/2 c chicken broth
  • 4 oz mozzarella shredded or sliced
  • 1/4 c fresh Parmigiano reggiano grated
  • 24 oz potato gnocchi
  • optional: fresh basil


  • Brown the ground beef in a large saute pan, drain off excess grease
  • Add to the pan the olive oil, onion, garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, parsley, salt and pepper and cook for 3-5 minutes
  • Stir in the marinara and chicken broth
  • Turn the heat to low, cover the pan and simmer for 20 minutes
  • Stir in the potato gnocchi, cover and simmer an additional 10 minutes
  • Stir in the mozzarella cheese
  • Sprinkle on the parmigiano reggiano
  • Serve


The fresh basil adds a lot of extra flavor, try this if you like basil!
